Daily Spiritual Practices

It is important for us to access our true essence each and every day. We do this by spending time re-connecting with spirit, with God, with the Universe, with the Goddess....with whatever you name as your spiritual resource.

Accessing this spiritual nature, we are accessing the infinte energy, boundlessness, freedom, peace, calmness, silence, inspiration, rest, healing, restoration and deepened states of awareness.

Many have not made the time for sacred time for themselves. Some of us did maybe in the past make time, however schedules change, life changes and all of a sudden we have filled that sacred time with something else.

Having our own sacred time each day allows us to re-fill our cup. We stretch ourselves to the limits in so many ways, more than we ever know. It is ok...to do this, but we need to complement this by giving ourselves a reset button. Stretching ourselves over the limits each and every day takes it's toll on us and our ability to function. When we do not give ourselves sacred time each day we basically are running ourselves into the ground, until the engine quits.

Having Daily Spiritual practices really does help us keep us refreshed, rejuvinated, restored, balanced, and on track.

- healing happens
- re-evaluation
- laughter happens...we drop the seriousness of our lives.......and allow it to flow
- we dance and smile more
- we learn how to access that universal energy in such a way that we realize we are not the doer of anything..
- our ability to get things done seems to happen in a more timeless manner
- we learn to flow with life
- we get in touch with our infinite gifts
- we love deeper
- we forgive easier
- we transform and get to know who we really are........and find joy and challenge into that.

I suggest that we allow ourselves sacred time for 1 hour a day. This can be done 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening as well.

Again, Make your sacred time what you want it to be:

- practicing some gentle yoga
- meditation
- Using a mala or rosary for prayers and chants of God
- Pranayama - practicing breathing techniques
- reading scriptures
- visiting your church, temple, mosque etc.
- having spiritual discussions with like minded people
- spending time in the presence of holi ones
- listening to music that takes you to a special blissful state
- spending time in nature on slow and easy walk
- Rocking on your porch swing in the early morning or early evening with your a cup of tea
- Or like my brother...he drives up to the mountains just to smell that fresh mountain air and to be close to God, as he says.

Keep checking back here as we will have more suggestions of ways to enhance your spiritual practices.

Feel free to comment and let us know how you take your sacred time each day.
